Fresh Eggs

Our farm has had a long-standing relationship with neighboring egg-producing small farms. These farmers sign a contract with Grindstone agreeing to comply with sustainable, ethical practices which require they will not debeak, vaccinate or cage their chickens. Practices observed include free-ranging pasture habitat and natural diets supplemented with GMO-free feed.

Livestock

A variety of livestock has been pasture-raised at Grindstone over the years—chickens, guinea keets, geese, pigs, turkeys—but in more recent years, we have focused on turkeys and pigs. Our other meats predominately come from local certified organic farms with like management practices, or similar to Grindstone’s practices, are raised consuming a native diet supplemented with GMO-free grains

Livestock Feed

Grindstone offers feeds bi-weekly from Pine Creek in Lyons, NY. We can supply customers with feed for poultry, rabbits, horses, sheep, duck & game birds, goats, and pigs. Pine Creek was the source selected as we feel they are among the finest GMO-free feeds. From their website: The concept is very simple. Original Feed is a blend of grains in their original non-GMO state – the way their Creator created them. Our vision is to produce a “Back to the Basics” feed, allowing you the opportunity to feed your livestock much the same as they were fed in the mid-1900s. This premium, all-natural feed is blended with grains that have been lab-tested and meet the highest levels of purity. The ingredients typically found in this feed non-GMO corn, soy, alfalfa, moasses, small grains, and minerals. Feed orders must be placed by Monday and picked up after 11 am Friday.

Root Crop Washers

Grindstone has manufactured harvest washers for decades, and they are in use from Alaska to Florida and internationally from Canada to the Bahamas. This equipment saves growers vast amounts of time and labor. We build each unit — both kits and fully built machines — to order.
